Description

An immediate full-time position is open for an Engineering Assistant/EIT with a primary focus on civil engineering. This position would reside in either our Reno or Truckee office. Candidates must be experienced in Land Development and general civil engineering practices. Our practice is very complicated in this highly regulated delicate environment that we work in. Environmental concerns affect all projects in this Alpine and Desert setting. The work is a varied and interesting mix of public and private sector projects. These include but are not limited to industrial and commercial sites, ski area projects, small and large residential subdivisions, multi-family projects, public recreation facilities, and public infrastructure projects. The technical skills needed relate to hydrology, grading, water quality treatment, water and sewer design, agency processing and permitting, and technical report preparation. The best candidate would be very nimble and able to support multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.


Responsibilities

  • Assists with civil engineering and design services for varying levels of projects.

  • Supports multiple projects simultaneously with Project Manager oversight.

  • Coordination with clients, governing agencies, and contractors.

  • Assists with site and agency visits to ensure project timelines are met.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other closely related field required

  • 2 to 4 years civil engineering experience

  • An NCEES EI or EIT Certification. Successful completion of NCEES Professional Engineers Exam is a plus.

  • Civil 3D skills required

  • QSD/QSP Certification a plus

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Precise verbal and written communication skills

  • Attentiveness to detail, ability to multi-task, and willingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers.


$73,000 - $89,000 Annually

Actual offered salary for this position varies, depending on candidate’s qualification, education, position knowledge, work experience, skills, ability, work location, and internal incumbent compensation for similar roles. We do not anticipate individuals hired into this position will start at or near the top half of the range listed; the decision will be based on each individual case. Salary range listed does not include other compensation elements such as discretionary bonus opportunities, paid time off, medical insurance, and other wage and benefit opportunities.
