Greenfield High School 2-Story Classroom Building

South Monterey County Joint Union High School District hired JKAE to transform the Greenfield HS campus by designing a new streetscape and “front door” to the school.

The new parking lot, pedestrian circulation pathways, entry plaza and secure campus perimeter complement the new two story classroom building that highlights the transformed frontage of the school. The classroom building is an inner-campus focused building that provides two levels of instructional space including a new maker-space lab, classrooms, student restrooms, as well as a new food service speed line to accommodate this section of the large high school campus. The building is designed to bring a contemporary flare to the design of the high school yet it takes cues from the existing campus color and materials palette. To complement the building, and new outdoor student collaboration plaza connects the campus side of the building with the existing library.

Working with JKAE has been a truly wonderful experience. Their hands-on approach created a positive environment for staff to express their desires. JKAE translated those desires into reality and while considering budget parameters. We have two truly useable educational facilities that take your breath away!
